i did a study of a carnation a while back and this is a chalk piece of a zoomed up view of the flower - i tried to convey the softness and the subtle qualities of the petals. it took a hell of a long time and it's a lot bigger than it looks! tell me what you think!

amazing new band, passion pit! what's more, there's a great story behind them - the lead singer, michael angelakos, from boston made a couple songs for his girlfriend for valentine's day. the cd chunk of change circulated around his friends and they loved it! the songs are an eclectic electronic mix that sounds like a more innocent, playful mgmt. definitely something to check out! 

the mongkok scene

here are some photos i took in the market. the flurry of colours and the movement of the pedestrians is at once overwhelming and settling. the energy of this part of town is however marred by the recent acid attacks. now it is a place filled with fear and anxiety.
